We are one of you. We are active and retired AMO members. We have united in a grassroots effort and in solidarity to stand for a better union government.

We believe it is time for a union government that takes full responsibility for its performance and that acts in the best interest of the membership and their families.

We stand for justice. We want to preserve your equal rights, privileges, protections, and freedoms.

We began our mission in 2005 and have proven to be the strongest membership voice in the history of the union. Our fight for the welfare and rights of every AMO member, retiree, and family has been affirmed time and again.

We have been successful in electing members directly from ships, attaining election reforms, and making gains through the legal process. We have made unprecedented progress for the benefit of the entire AMO membership. But we still face many challenges.

We will learn from the past to build membership security for the future, which is something that still does not exist in our union.

We recognize that AMO families have suffered serious financial setbacks. New issues are of immediate concern in 2010. The Pension Plan, first and foremost, is a prime example. Hundreds of members, many without jobs or a full pension, have left the AMO. We need to work together to elect leadership that will finally keep the best interests of our families at heart.

We stand by our positive platform calling for reforms and progress. We promise to hold benefits, jobs, financial responsibility, and union democracy as sacred and core issues in our campaign.

We intend to support and elect responsible AMO members. Together, we will hold those elected accountable for protecting our welfare. Ultimately, every AMO member is responsible for acting, voting wisely, and taking part in solutions to problems that we all face. We ask you to look at the issues, roll up your sleeves, and pitch in to secure a stable future for the AMO and its members.

We, the undersigned, stand for better union government and a better life for our membership and our families. We ask that you add your name to our roll of honorable AMO union members.
